Es Migjorn Gran

Es Migjorn Gran

Es Migjorn Gran, MenorcaMenorca‘s smallest and newest municipal district (formerly under the jurisdiction of Es Mercadal) covers picturesque countryside as well as arguably some of the best virgin beaches the island has to offer.

The small, immaculately kept town of Es Migjorn, with its collection of whitewashed houses spilling down the hillside, retains a sense of authentic rural life unchanged for generations.

Indeed, the residents keep ancient tradition alive here: one even penned an anthology of Menorcan legends and at weekends villagers take part in all sorts of popular events. The village band is famed throughout the island and many artists have also made their home here

SANT ADEODAT Y SANT TOMÀS
Technically two beaches separated by a small rocky outcrop, Sant Adeodat is the first beach one arrives at from Es Migjorn with Sant Tomàs located to the east of it. The resort stretches behind both beaches with a handful of mid-size hotels in the frontline and villas beyond. Various supermarkets, boutiques, banks, car rental and other services can be found in the vicinity of the hotels. This is very much a family resort with several  playgrounds, tennis courts and crazy golf available at the hotels.

BINIGAUS
From Sant Adeodat, turn right in front of the snack bar and follow the Camí de Cavalls footpath westwards, parallel to the coast. Just beyond the small islet offshore the beach becomes Binigaus – another superb beach of fine sand and very clear water. It is only accessible on foot and especially popular with people working on an all-over tan!
